Picture an exotic Swahili island, off the northern Kenyan coast, with no roads ... boats and walking are the only mode of transport here. Lamu town shows it’s Arabic heritage with narrow alley ways and exotic building facades. The open beaches of Shela and Manda are easily accessible from the boutique properties dotted around the island....

    Traditional Lamu style

Lamu House, on the seafront in Lamu Town, has been created from two Swahili houses renovated with the traditional Lamu style. Excellent local and international cuisine is served blends the best local ingredients. A courtesy speedboat is available to escape for the day to the hotel’s own beach bar on Manda Island.

Take a traditional sailing boat (dhow) for the complete Lamu experience.

The dhows crew take you out for a late afternoon sundowner trip down the secluded mangrove channels or on a full day trip to a remote private beach with a tasty bbq lunch.
