About us

Greg Monson, owner of Chameleon EA and Managing Director of the celebrated Kicheche Camps, is an active member of the Kenya tourist industry as one of the founding members of three Mara Conservancies, Chairman of Olare Motorogi Conservancy and Vice – Chairman of Mara North Conservancy. Whilst a KPSGA Silver guide himself, Greg sits on the Kenya Professional Safari Guides Examination Committee as well as  in the Kenya Tourism Federation Environmental Committee. After nearly 20 years on the continent, Boss knows a damn lot about this place, it's people and it's wildlife ! Doing VAT returns is not really his thing but getting out there and sharing this beauty with others is what makes it all worth while ...

Born and bred in Nairobi, Josie Palla has travel in her blood ! For more then 12 years now, Josie has worked in tourism, first in travel & ticketing, later in tours & safaris. Of all the safari activities she is most passionate about birding, though unlike her little friends she doesn't like the heights... Her preferred destination is the vast, rugged and truly African terrain of Northern Kenya. For a beach break, Josie is sure to either look up the buzz of Diani or relax along the unspoiled beaches of Manda Bay. But most of all, Josie loves spending time with her totos and trying out new recipes; the Ethiopian cuisine is her favorite !

Samuel, fondly known as Kip (for Kiptanui), was born and raised in Kenya's Rift Valley Province, spending most of his formative years in the rural countryside of Narok District, home to the well renowned game reserve of Masai Mara. After his KSCE education he was propelled by his passion for wildlife and environmental geography, and so he joined Kenya Utalii College for a career in the hospitality industry. From then on Kip has worked for several respected tour operators and has been with Chameleon for the past many years. He is a member of Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association and sport wise he religiously keeps track of international football ! We shall not name his favorite team ... Kip feels very fortunate to call Kenya 'home' and loves to share his part of the world with others !

Nathalie, born in Belgium yet bred in Africa, purely operates on solar energy and hence could not imagine life without Africa ! She especially loves the sharp contrasts for which the African sky line is famous. Breathtaking sunsets in Africa's red soil landscapes are her favorites (except for when trying to wash the dirt out of safari clothes). A visit to the coast would have to be in Watamu, but on safari, it could be a different destination for each day of the week, depending on her moods : Mara, Lewa. Tassia, Samburu ... just too many to choose from ! Nats loves traveling yet hates flying (join the club) and can't be found cooking for a hobby however she loves sweet things, especially her sweet yet naughty boys at home !

Esther, freshly graduated from University of Nairobi, joined the Chameleon team recently as our travel & tourism intern. Though new to the industry, she is settling in well and we have since found out that she too is afraid of heights (we wonder...) and snakes ! Cooking, hiking, photography and adventure are the key ingredients for her to have a good time on safari. Want to know her favorite safari destinations ? Amboseli and Mara, just to name a few ...
