Only 800 mountain gorillas remain in their tiny habitat tucked away in the Virunga region straddling the borders of Uganda/ Rwanda and Congo. Anyone who has trekked through these forests and spent an hour with these majestic creatures will tell you it was one of life’s most memorable experiences.

The surrounding volcanic regions are simply stunning and an added attraction to any visit. The other incredible primate experience is visiting wild chimpanzees in lowland forest. These visits offer a chance to see the incredible interactions of a troop in the wild and can be woven into your itinerary in Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania on the remote shores of Lake Tanganyika.
