The green jewel hugging Lake Victoria in the heart of Africa whose forests team with birdlife from the Central African region. The beautiful rainforests are home to many primates, the chief attractions are the chimpanzees of Kibale and QE National Park and of course the mountain Gorillas of Bwindi and Mgahinga.
The scenery here is so incredibly evocative, the volcanic south west with the dramatically terraced slopes, the rich red soils, traditional villages and explosions of color of villagers in their traditional attire.
Let’s be honest Uganda, despite some decent wildlife viewing in national parks like Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth, can’t fully compete with the scale of Kenya and Tanzania. However what it does offer makes it an incredible partner for these destinations or an amazing alternative for those drawn to it’s charms.Dest

Uganda takes its name from the Buganda kingdom, which encompasses a large portion of the south of the country including the capital Kampala. The official language is English. Luganda, a central language, is widely spoken across the country, and multiple other languages are also spoken including Swahili.
With its prime location in the African Great Lakes region, Uganda has a variety of water bodies that are popular spots for tourism. White water rafting in Jinja is a popular activity on River Nile. Boating which is commonly done on Lake Victoria, Lake Mburo, Lake Bunyonyi, Kazinga Channel, and River Nile is a perfect way of exploring the buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and a wide variety of bird species that inhabit the banks of these water bodies. Sport fishing is another favorite tourist activity.
